ALTHOUGH WE DO NOT HAVE ANY COVID MEASURES IN PLACE…

…several measures we undertook when we met during the pandemic resulted in new processes that many of us consider to be a general benefit (or common sense) for our rehearsals. Therefore, the following are features that Kirkley Community Choir offer at our sessions:

SONG DOWNLOAD As a way to avoid unnecessary touch-points (handing out lyric sheets), we started to digitise our repertoire, making it available for download/print from the website. Many members have found this useful and requested that it continues. The practise list for each rehearsal is published by the morning of the session and you can download any lyrics you need from this page.
We will still continue to bring printed copies of songs that we practise for anybody who is unable to print their own for whatever reason.

AIR MONITOR It is important to keep air flowing well through a rehearsal space for the health and benefit of everybody and, in particular, to help to stop the spread of (any kind of) virus. The most effective way to check if there is sufficient ventilation is to use a Carbon Dioxide (CO2) monitor and we continue to use ours at rehearsal.
Please note – fortunately, the Kirkley Centre is a very large and well ventilated space and the device that we purchased to monitor our air quality hasn’t yet triggered an alarm light.

WHAT CONTROL MEASURES DID WE HAVE IN PLACE DURING THE PANDEMIC?

The pandemic resulted in us suspending rehearsals in March 2020 which we were able to briefly recommence in September 2020. In November the same year, we had to suspend sessions again until September 2021, at which point we continued to meet through until now!
